New Blog Look! And Other Changes

I’ve been itching for a change with my blog for the last couple months but haven’t been able to decide which direction to go in – that is until this week.  For the past three years, had the “Confit” theme and I loved it. But like anything else, things change and so has my style and the direction I want my career to head. The new WordPress theme that I’m using is “Sela.” I decided on this theme because I liked it’s clean, modern style and the small pop of purple. I felt like my old blog’s look was too dark and serious for who I am today.

I’ve also recently changed up my Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest profiles to better reflect my personal brand. Now, you can find me on social media as @wordyveronica instead of @nosaintveronica. I picked @wordyveronica because I love reading and writing, and I felt the new handle communicated that waaaay better than @nosaintveronica. I had chosen @nosaintveronica back in 2010 or 2011 during my rebellious early 20s.

Ok, maybe not that rebellious but I didn’t really have an idea of what I wanted to do with my career. And I definitely didn’t think that I would end up working in internet marketing so I went with something that I thought was witty (because there’s an actual Saint Veronica and I’m obviously not her. Smh…moving on.)

I had thought about waiting until the beginning of the new year to roll out all these changes but I scratched that idea because I felt inspired now to make a change now. It can be scary to leave something old and familiar, even something as small as this blog, but it feels good to shed off my old self and evolve into the person I am today. I know that one day in the future, I’ll be shedding off this version of myself and evolving again. Let’s hope that the journey to get there isn’t too bumpy 🙂
